How is it already February? I'd like to know where January went. I'm certain time speeds up when you are a parent. I'm frightened at the speed of time if we were to have another child. One makes it move fast enough...
Lilly Rose has been cracking us up around here lately. I love seeing her little personality emerge. Last night while Billy and I were eating dinner Lilly Rose was playing in the living room. We watched her reach onto the couch to grab the remote and then she held it up pointing at the TV as if she was going to change the channel. No doubt she's picked that up from us. It was quite hilarious to watch this tiny girl trying to hold a remote in the air and control the TV. What a reminder to us that she's watching our every move, even at the young age of one.
It seems everyday there's something new that Lilly is doing. A few of my favorites lately are:
-- stepping out of her pants when it's bath time. so cute to see her little legs know to lift up to step out of her pants. how did she know to do this is beyond me but it's adorable.
-- dance (Lilly Rose, you are quite the dancing queen!)
-- pretends to sip tea from her play tea set
-- takes things apart: this isn't really "new" but Lilly is getting much better at it. :)
-- removes her socks any chance she gets. During nap time, around the house or if I put her to bed with socks...they are always removed. We don't have this problem with shoes and socks when we are out for the day but if we're home the socks come off. I don't understand why she does this as it's winter and some days it makes her feet cold.
-- shakes her head no: everything is "no" (already!?!)
-- This past week we went to visit some old work friends and Lilly wanted everyone to hold her. She's quite the social baby. When leaving she waved and said "bye" - too funny.
And the not-so-favorite things lately (just to keep it real):
-- pooping in the bath tub! so. gross. (it's mentionable because it's happened 3x in the past month. again, so. gross. However, I *may* have learned my lesson and will wait a full hour after dinner instead of the usual 30 minutes).
-- refusing to drink milk from a sippy cup resulting in much crying and no nap (maybe she's just not ready as she loves water from her sippy??)
-- refusing "real" table food at dinner time. I would really just love to have her eat table food but it ends up with a frustrated family and happy dog because LR throws it. <sigh>
-- tantrums (they've already begun)
And some random iPhone pics from the past couple weeks:
**yes, our wardrobe is completely confused because the weather here in FL is as usual**
