Lately {20 months}

I guess the summer fun along with our move a few months ago has kept me unmotivated to blog. It's become a chore lately but for my family book purposes I feel like it's time for an update. Between trips to the beach, shopping, first road trip with daddy (while I scored a weekend in Charleston with my college bestie) and living by the pool, Lilly's 20 month has flown by and we're approaching 21 months. While I'm ready for life to settle back to some kind of normalcy, we are enjoying the wild ride of the unknown. Having the sweetest little toddler on the planet helps make the time pass as we figure out life around here... and she keeps us laughing!
Headed out of town with Daddy
Lilly Rose can count to 10... eleven (skips twelve) and says thirteen excitedly. We are working on the ABC's and colors. Lilly's recent sayings are: "Oh, Boy!", "There ya go, thank you" and "I got it" -- these were picked up from either Yaya or Papa. Lilly Rose has become our little parrot, repeating everything and learning daily.

Parenting a Toddler is so much fun, lots of work and pure joy watching LR develop. I really am loving this stage. Really, I've loved every stage tremendously thus far. Of course there are better days than others but I'm 100% authentic when documenting our life (for my family). And as for the not-so-great moments... does anyone really care that my child had a melt down when I took her out of the stroller tonight after our walk? The child loves to be outside and it's complete torture for her when we end all the "fun" and go inside for important things like bath and bedtime. I digress BUT I'm kind of annoyed lately with the entire 'be authentic' movement among social media and blogger's. I've seen a lot of talk about it over the past several months. Personally, I think it's a healthy matter for someone to not share so much online. I'm sure there is an Emily Post rule about this somewhere. ;) Okay, rant over.
Go DAWGS!
Back to the post topic, Lilly Rose at 20-months. A few of her favorite activities: coloring, side-walk chalk, pool time, looking at books and pointing to objects she knows, and "field trips" aka getting in the car and going somewhere...anywhere... as LR LOVES to GO! Billy and I enjoy staying on the go so she gets it honestly. We just returned from another trip to ATL. Lilly Rose is a great little traveler and enjoyed visiting with family. We are looking forward to *hopefully* some cooler weather and Fall activities!
