Doctor Visit {2 month check up}

Lilly and I survived the doctors by ourselves. I must say though that the 2 month visit is awful! My poor baby screamed wailed at the top of her lungs, turning fire engine red during her shots. It was plain traumatic! She screamed and I cried. I didn't think it would get to me. I've seen her get shots thus far in her short 9 weeks but she never reacted like this so it made the day extra exhausting. Aside from the needles and screams everything else went well. :) We have a 8lb 12oz baby who is 22 inches long. Lilly checked out in the 3% in weight and 25% in height. It was reassuring to hear the doctor say everything looked good and continue doing what we are.

Lilly Rose is almost out of her newborn clothes. Sniff, sniff! I have a drawer and closet full of 0/3 mo. outfits that are slowly starting to fit. Some of her newborn pajamas are now too small, she's too long for them. It's so much fun seeing her grow but part of me cannot believe the past 9 weeks have flown by and my tiny baby is growing up. I'm not yet ready to pack up the newborn clothes so I'm slowly putting aside the outfits she just cannot wear anymore.

Here's a few pictures from our day at the doctor and one from yesterday on her 2 month birthday. (we take a picture by the bear for papa each month, he gave Lilly Mr. Bear for Christmas).
 At the doctor before the shots.
 She's just ready to leave at this point...
 By the next day, I had a happy baby again...
(still working for those smiles) ;)

Happy 2 month Birthday, Lilly Rose! You are a delight and we love you to pieces.

Busy, Busy Lil Bird {week 8}

What a fun week it's been so far. We've had a lunch date with daddy, lots of play time, visited yaya at work for some sugar and even went shopping.

Tomorrow is Lilly's two month (ahhh, two months already!) check up. We are headed to the doctor and hope they don't give her too many shots. Can't wait to find out her measurements. She is growing so much. Praying it goes smoothly, I'll be by myself. :)

Lilly Rose {week 7}

Lilly Rose is growing each day. There's so much to say, as a mom I could go on for days about every little thing. For now, I want to share just a few of the most memorable happenings of week 7:
More alert - Lilly is up for longer periods of time and takes everything in. She had her first Super Bowl Sunday and cheered along with us for the NY Giants. My Uncle John gave Lilly Rose this top, he went into the city so she could have a piece of New York. I thought it was appropriate Giants wear seeing we don't have anything with the team logo. :)

Wiggly baby! Lilly is a wiggle worm, you should have seen me trying to pose her for a decent picture. This is my great grandmother's chair and I thought it would be sweet to have a picture with Lilly on it while she's still tiny - this is the best I could do. She's such a wiggle worm and loves to stay on her side.

--She is up to 3 oz bottles when she gets them (I am still nursing)
--Found her index finger and likes to suck on it, I need to capture this.
--Continues to sleep 7-8 hours each night (praise Jesus!)

Smiling more however Lilly is not a 'easy to impress baby', we have to work for those smiles! (I'm wondering if this is just because she's still so little or she has a bit of my personality...hard to impress...hoping it's because she's still so little...). She sure does love her daddy though!

Lilly had her first outing to daddy's work, everyone loved meeting her. I took her down the lighting isle to teach her all about the important things: beautiful chandeliers :)

--Many official 'blow outs' during week 7. I had to strip her down and take her straight to the tub after we got home one night. Can we say that is LOVE cleaning up poop. ha!
--Calms down during sing time with daddy, she loves to listen to music.

And, my favorite part of week seven was calling my former employer to tell them our decision for me to stay home with Lilly Rose. Aside from everything that they did and all that happened to me while on maternity leave my heart was always here. No matter what we wanted to find a way for me to be able to be at home with Lilly and thankfully God has blessed us and made a way. We were not sure if this would happen. So, I'm super excited about this next chapter. Lilly Rose is almost two months, time is moving quickly as life seems to do and I'm glad I won't miss a beat!

Valentines Day {xo love xo}

Today was special. It was one of our "family days" (Billy was off work) and Lilly's first valentines day. We spent the morning enjoying heart biscuits and cuddling. The remainder of the day was just the 3 of us, plus Oliver, doing a little more cuddling, taking naps and sharing our valentines chocolates. :) Pretty much we decided to stay in and be lazy. Perfect seeing yesterday was full of errands, taxes and appointments. I am so thankful God gave me a wonderful husband, beautiful baby girl and sweet puppy dog too, to love. Hope you also had a wonderful day celebrating the ones you love!

 Impromptu ruffle bottom pictures I took today while she was sleeping... and then woke up :)

Newborn Session {17 days old}

I can't believe it's already February! Lilly Rose is 6 weeks old tomorrow...where does the time go!? I have a feeling this is going to be the question I ask myself the rest of our lives. :) Her newborn pictures arrived this week and I wanted to share a few of my favorites. Kari Vennard Photography captured these of my sweet girl at 17 days old. I already see so much change in her since these were taken.
