What. A. Day.
Today we headed out to see Dr. Baker and check in on our little girl. Lilly Rose was given an A+ for terrific growth and a award for "the cutest shoes of the day" from Dr. Baker. I'm not sure which score was more worthy of a proud mommy moment?? :) My little Bird is now 11lb. 9 oz. and 24" long - two whole feet! (I guess my 13lb guess the other day was including her clothes and diaper...) She is in the 10% bracket for weight and 25% for height.
We were given the green light for food, so happy! Tonight she has been a little fussy due to the shots and all so I think we'll introduce Rice Cereal to her tomorrow morning. When the nurse administered the shots we went through the entire episode all over again that we experienced at 2 months (fire engine red, hurling screams and hard to calm down). It just isn't pleasant. However, there was a really neat moment before it all went downhill, Lilly was grabbing her toes as I was discussing her latest with Dr. Baker. I looked over and she was going to town! We were hoping to see that a night or two ago when she was trying but I guess she decided to save the fun stuff for her doctor. :)
Just before the shots
After the shots it was mad dash to just get the heck outta there. I couldn't calm her and then when changing her diaper she pee peed everywhere. Everywhere. We left with no bow, 'award winning shoes' in the diaper bag & no socks on her feet. After checking out she calmed down and by the time she was in the car she was sound asleep. Whew!!
Once we were home, all was well again.
This was taken the other night... test driving the highchair
And this is whats waiting for miss rose in the morning.
On a side note, it was a really sweet day for me. A year ago today I took my first pregnancy test and saw a faint positive for the very first time. I can still remember the moment and days that followed confirming our dream was reality. So thankful to be at a 4 month well visit with that sweet blessing!! Even if we leave that appointment exhausted (mommy), crying (Lilly) and no socks or shoes on her feet...she's here and healthy! What a difference a year can make. Praise Jesus. :)
