A beautiful sound {175 beats per minute kind of beautiful}

Baby Bird,
Yesterday your Daddy and I saw you again. You are so tiny, about the size of a grape. We saw tiny little arms and the most beautiful baby head I've ever seen. When the Doctor turned on the sound we heard your heartbeat, how amazing it was! Your Daddy and I couldn't stop talking about it at dinner. We are soo excited to see you but for now it's best you stay cozy and grow.

We love you!
Mommy
9 weeks
After the longest appointment of our lives (3 hours) we celebrated seeing our growing baby again with Outback and shopping. It was the best day! I even had a good day with the morning sickness. It may have been the banana I had right after I woke up, I'm thinking that helped. Praise God for the blessings.

Tonight I spent time in Folkston with mom and dad, mom cooked for me and we did a little online shopping. The Doctor said we had 9 more weeks before we can find out the sex of baby Bird so until then I'm keeping my purchases to a minimum. :)

Icky Update {the what's what of weeks 8-9}

Well the morning sickness has officially kicked in and the past couple weeks have been icky. I've been told it is a sign of a healthy growing baby so I will gladly accept the nausea. I am not a picky eater by nature but as of late I will only eat what sounds good and at that moment. Chocolate milk (which I nevvvveeeer drink or purchase due to the high calorie intake) has been a big hit with me lately. I just crave a cold glass of chocolate milk. Mashed potatoes have been a easy comfort food, I think because they're bland they settle well. And every now and then I'll try meat but it's usually only chicken.

The nursery, former guest bedroom, is cleaned out and only has a few things hanging in the closet. Billy and I love to go in there to look around and smile. Seeing a few baby things in the empty room make this seem really real. We cannot wait to decorate but I dare move in that direction until we find out what we're having. So many design ideas swirling in my head!

Bedtime is early these days and I'm okay with that. I believe Oliver is not enjoying his early to bed (and gone all day at work) momma but I know it is a phase. I hear I'll have a little more energy and feel great in the 2nd trimester.

In a couple more days we get to see our sweet baby again. It is our first appointment with the OBGYN so I hope to have more information and a special picture to bring home.  It feels a little surreal and now that our family and friends know it is a little more exciting because we get to share each step with them. I am definitely looking forward to the future and cannot wait to see my little Bird in a few days!
