Sesame Street characters according to Lilly Rose {16 months}

Lilly Rose is doing great learning new letters and sounding them out. She points to the Sesame Street characters trying to sound out their names. "Bahh" is for Big Bird, "Em" is for Elmo, etc. Apparently "Aah" for Abby is also Mama and "Ga" for Grover is Daddy. Funny she points to them each time and calls them our names. Grover is tall, on the lean side and has a guitar next to him. So appropriate. :) I love to see how her little 16 month old mind is working.

Disney {spring vacation}

It's about time to finally blog about Disney. I expected to have showered my blog with pictures, lots of pictures, by now but things have been a bit of a whirlwind for us. We have had so much going on personally since our return that I haven't had time to really think about posting. I mean, I totally missed her 16th month post as well and there are some things I definitely want to remember about Lilly Rose from the past month. (I STILL can't believe she's 16 months already!)

So with everything on our plate right now, I can't really think straight. I will indulge more at a later date. I'm just going to document some pictures here and do a Disney book from Shutterfly for all the pictures.

A few things I want to remember about our first family of 3 Disney Trip:

-- Lilly was a GREAT traveler. She slept perfectly in the hotel, loved the pool, patient while we shopped one full afternoon, did wonderful on the car rides and was a pleasant dinner guest in restaurants. I was very proud of her!
-- Lilly Rose loves Mickey Mouse, she literally would lite up seeing him in person.

-- Seeing everything through Lilly's excitement made the magic of Disney a million times more magical.
-- Fast Passes are the way to go, we didn't have to wait for a ride more than 10 minutes our entire trip thanks to short waits and Fast Passes for the popular rides.
-- Lilly Rose liked Dumbo, was in 'awe' of the It's A Small World ride (mouth opened entire boat ride), LOVED the dance party Mickey parade and could have done without the Peter Pan ride. I mean what were we thinking even going on that ride... it was dark and couldn't see much. The Pooh ride seemed to be a hit too. I personally liked the Little Mermaid. :)
-- Meeting Mickey Mouse was first on our agenda. Lilly enjoyed hugging, kissing, poking and prodding the poor guy. It made for a really fun way to start our day.
-- It was a much needed family getaway with over 500 pictures to keep the memories alive. :)

Thanks, Yaya, for making the special dress!

LR wanted the cookie, I wanted the Ice-cream - perfect indulgence pair

It was HOT

My two favorite humans ;)

Exploring Animal Kingdom
This trip started the Disney fever ... I just know it'll be a little more fun each time as Lilly gets older.

We're Back {quick note}

Last week we spent 4 days in Orlando and had the best time. Lilly Rose really seemed to enjoy herself and was such a good girl the entire trip. We've had such a busy weekend and other things going on I haven't made time to blog about meeting the mouse yet. More to come later.

We've Decided...

Not long after having a baby one begins to think "I can't wait to do..." with this sweet blessing. Or, It's going to be so much fun next year when we can take her to... For Billy it was is "a Braves game" and he'll probably have to wait for that another few years so it's not complete torture.

For this mama it was Disney World! And I'm on the side of the fence that believes, "they're never too young for Disney". So we've decided Disney World is where we'll have our Spring vacation this year!

Who doesn't love a family day in the Magic Kingdom? Billy took me (our last visit there) for my 29th Birthday. We had so much fun. We said the next visit would be with our little one. And here we are. Billy likes to say that he and Lilly Rose are taking ME to Disney. That may actually be the case. However, I know Lilly will enjoy it so much.  Lilly Rose loves to sing the "M-I-C-K-E-Y" song. She always gets excited when we sing it (her favorite part being hold the banner "High, High, High, High" with arms in the air). And her favorite kissing partner at the moment is in fact, Mickey Mouse. I hope Minnie doesn't hold that against her. ;)

Billy has a week off coming up. We have a house sitter (thank the Lord for a sweet friend willing to stay with Oliver) and cannot wait to spend the week at Disney. Beware the future posts might be Disney overload. :)

She Slays Me {15 months}

To say Lilly Rose makes me laugh several times a day would be an understatement. My child truly has a funny bone, she's hysterical. Maybe all mama's think their children are hysterical and LR doesn't have a funny bone... either way, she slays me!

At bedtime our routine (after bath and last sippy of milk) consist of diaper change, brush teeth, rock together while we say prayers and sing at least 3 of Lilly's favorite songs. I play her lullaby CD, put her in the crib and tell her goodnight, etc. Well the other night after we rocked I stood up to put her in the crib but was lingering because I was hugging and kissing on her. (she is getting too big, too quickly, and I really needed an extra snuggle). I guess she thought I was lingering too long because she looked back at me and said "BYE" in a confident, "I'm over this, mom" kind of way. I cracked up. Billy was in the yard finishing up and when I told him he almost didn't believe me. She definitely keeps me laughing around here. Each day brings new adventures... I'm loving this Toddler stage!

And totally not post related but here's a few pictures from our family day yesterday. Billy was off work and we played all day. We spent the day in St. Marys, I just love days like these...

she was a little unsure of the grass at first...wanted to hold our hands

by far her favorite spot in the park, I think Papa needs to put in a big fountain!? ;)

He Lives! {easter}

I serve a risen Savior, Hes in the world today;
I know that He is living, whatever men may say;...

One of my favorite Hymns growing up was "He Lives". I can still remember times when the orchestra would stop playing and we would sing a capella. It would give me chills every time. I'm so thankful we serve a RISEN savior! Because of this we get to celebrate Easter...

This was Lilly Roses' 2nd Easter. Last year she was so tiny we didn't do baskets or hunt eggs. So this was her first and it was so much fun.

After Lilly Rose got a good peek into her Easter basket we headed to church and then to Papa & Yaya's for lunch.
the obligatory family photo that never turns out good

I really appreciate and love the fact that mom always does a nice holiday table
My setting had it's very own chocolate bunny! :)
checking out her Easter gifts from Yaya
Lilly even hunted eggs for the first time. She did pretty good! She was cracking us up - Lilly likes linear things and she was taking the (paper) grass from the basket and straightening them out. I guess she didn't like them crinkled.
Once we came home she finally got to dig in and see what the bunny left for her. I thought Elmo would be the favorite but seems the sunglasses were. :)
I love this picture. I imagine the basket will shrink over the years.
ready for fun in the sun!

...You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
